Thorough & Compliant Removal

In Australia, asbestos removal is tightly regulated to protect public health and the environment. If you're removing more than 10m² of bonded (non-friable) asbestos, it must be done by someone with the correct Class B licence. Friable asbestos—like crumbling insulation or dust-producing materials—requires a Class A licence and more extensive control measures.

We work strictly within the guidelines set out by Safe Work Australia and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, ensuring all removal, transport and disposal is carried out legally and safely.

Typical asbestos materials include wall sheeting, eaves, fencing, shed linings and underground pipes—especially in homes or buildings constructed before 1990. If you suspect asbestos on your property or worksite, don’t disturb it. For practical advice or to organise safe removal, call 0438 886 345 today.

How do I know if something contains asbestos?

Identifying asbestos in materials isn’t always straightforward, as it’s often mixed with other substances and can look like common building products. It was widely used in homes built before the late 1980s, especially in roofing, wall sheeting, insulation, vinyl flooring, and eaves. If you're unsure, the safest approach is to treat any suspect material as potentially containing asbestos. Only a licensed professional can confirm its presence through proper testing and analysis. Never disturb or attempt to remove suspected asbestos yourself, as it can release dangerous fibres. Always seek expert advice before carrying out work on older buildings.

What’s the difference between bonded and friable asbestos?

Bonded asbestos is tightly bound in a solid material—like cement sheeting—and is generally safe if left undisturbed. Friable asbestos is loose, powdery or crumbles easily when touched. It poses a much higher health risk because fibres can become airborne more easily and be inhaled. In Australia, bonded asbestos can be removed by someone with a Class B licence, while friable asbestos requires a Class A licence and much stricter safety controls.

Is it illegal to remove asbestos yourself in Queensland?

In Queensland, it is legal to remove less than 10 square metres of bonded asbestos yourself, but it must be done safely and according to WorkSafe guidelines. However, removing larger quantities or any friable asbestos requires a licensed removalist. Even with small amounts, using a professional is strongly recommended to ensure proper handling, disposal, and to avoid exposure. Fines may apply for incorrect disposal or unsafe practices.
